Automatic telescopic hose reel: A smarter way to water plants.
The courtyard in the early morning remained damp and cool. Sunlight had just begun to stream in over the rooftops, casting a shimmering golden glow across the lawn.
He walked over to the wall and picked up the hose reel hanging in the corner. Hoses had always been a headache—a tangled mess to deal with whenever you used them. You had to painstakingly untangle them, coil after coil; they would easily snarl and twist, becoming like an impossible knot that simply couldn't be undone.
But today is different.
With a gentle tug, the hose uncoiled smoothly—without snagging or tangling—as if being softly set free. Water flowed evenly from the sprinkler, falling upon the newly sprouting plants in the flowerbed. The tiny leaves swayed gently amidst the mist, as if responding to this perfect, tender care.
He walked back and forth across the courtyard, watering the plants as he went. The roses in the corner still bore the dewdrops of the previous night, while the green leaves along the wall appeared even more vibrant. The entire courtyard slowly awakened—quiet, yet brimming with life.
After using it, he no longer had to go to the trouble of cleaning it up as he did before. He simply had to pull the retractor, and the hose would slowly wind back along its track, returning neatly to its container without tangling.
At that moment, he suddenly realized that many complex things in life could actually be simplified.
It's not because there's less to do, but because the tools have become more convenient.
The courtyard fell quiet once more, and water droplets slid from the tips of the leaves. He stood in the sunlight, gazing at the tidy walls and clean ground, feeling a quiet sense of contentment deep within.
A gentle breeze blew by, carrying the fresh scent of grass. The day was just beginning.
